Membership Levels

Below are our 3 types of membership levels, and the benefits and commitments of each.

Artist Member – 12 Month Commitment @ $115 a month

To join as an Artist Member, an applicant commits to paying membership fees of $115 per month for an entire year; annual membership dues of $25; and a one time $35 orientation session fee (waived if you’ve taken the class). The total cost of one year of usage, including the membership dues is $1,440, with the option to pay monthly or for one upfront cost.

  • Ability to reserve studio space on-line as far in advance as desired
  • Unlimited 8 hour work blocks in the studio*
  • Onsite supply and screen storage
  • Discounts on studio workshops
  • Opportunity to sell products at ASPCO studio events (based on space availability)
  • Collaboration with other artists
  • Option to hold solo show at the ASPCO studio**
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
  • Attend one-time orientation session (price included in membership fee)
  • Volunteer at least 24 hours annually
  • Attend quarterly meeting / information session / clean up day****
  • Serve on one committee

Associate Member – 6 Month Commitment @ $80 a month

To join as an Associate Member, an applicant commits to a monthly membership fee of $80 a month for a minimum of six months; annual membership dues of $25; and a one time $35 orientation session fee (waived if you’ve taken the class). Membership will begin on the first day of the month and continue for 6 consecutive months. The total cost of the six month membership including start up fees is $540 which can be paid in monthly installments or as one upfront cost.

BENEFITS DURING MONTHS OF PATRONAGE
  • 16 hours studio time per month, with the ability to gain up to 16 additional hours by volunteering up to 8 hours per month
  • 24 hour access, with blocks capped at 8 hours

Project Member – 1 Month Commitment @ $225 a month

The Project Membership is designed to meet the needs of highly experienced screen printers who need periodic access to a studio – such as if you’re visiting Austin for a month or two. To become a Project Member an applicant must pay $225 in full upfront, which includes annual membership dues, orientation session, and one month of usage fees. Subsequent months of usage are $200 per month. A Project Membership may only last a maximum of 3 months. Project Memberships will begin on the day your short orientation is completed  and will continue for 30 consecutive days.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
  • One reference to contact about your printing background
  • Must have printed in the last year and have worked in a shop environment before
  • Must have active working knowledge and experience of screen printing and is used to working completely independently: coating,  exposing & reclaiming screens; using a power washer; basic computer skills; and working independently in a shop
  • Attend one-time orientation session (price included with membership fee)

* Sessions may have to be limited in the event Members abuse the unlimited availability policy or membership grows to a point where availability becomes an issue.

** Expenses for solo show would all be the responsibility of the Artist Member and each Artist Member may only hold two solo shows per year to ensure facilities are available for other Members to use.

*** “Months of Patronage” refers to the months in which Associate and Monthly Members pay the usage fee in order to have access to the Co-op facilities, equipment and supplies.

**** Due to scheduling conflicts it may not be possible for all Members to meet this requirement of membership. The Board of Directors may offer an alternative to this requirement that is comparable in nature.
